Chasing Liberty is the story of eighteen-year-old Anna Foster (Mandy Moore) who just wants the American dream: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. At the very least, she wants the freedom to live like any other teenager, but there's one little problem: her dad is the President of the United States.

Every detail of Anna's life is constantly monitored, but when Anna and her family attend a diplomatic trip in Europe, Anna uses it as her chance for a little adventure!

Longing for a taste of freedom, Anna decides it's time to take matters into her own hands, ditches the agents and goes on the run. Her impromptu European tour takes her further away from a life of protocol and draws her closer to her traveling companion Ben Calder (Matthew Goode), but Anna dreads the day she has to tell Ben who she really is and go back home. Little does she know that Ben has a secret of his own.
