Celebrate in super-size proportions as the family hit Cheaper By The Dozen, starring Steve Martin, Hilary Duff and Tom Welling, is released to buy and rent on DVD and video from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on 31st May 2004.
Meet the Bakers, a jumbo-sized happy family from Illinois. Tom Baker (Steve Martin, Bringing Down with House, Father of the Bride) and his wife Kate (Bonnie Hunt, Jerry Maguire) had always wanted a large family and that's exactly what they have as the parents of a dozen children, who they love, despite having their lives filled with mayhem and madness!
Tom Baker coaches a successful football team and his winning ways catch the eye of a top flight college team. When he is offered the coaching job at the college outside of Chicago, he cannot resist, and so, the family move to the city with their 12 children in tow. Meanwhile, Tom's wife, Kate expertly manages the household, but is also an aspiring novelist, pursuing her own dream to write a book about her family's exploits. When she learns that her book is to be published, Kate goes to New York on a promotional tour, with assurances from Tom that he can cope. Dad is left in charge, and while Mum's away, the kids will play!
The Baker children are already upset from having to move away from their old home and friends, and now that Dad is left in charge, it's time for revenge! Tom's new job as Coach doesn't leave a lot of time for the kids and the once strong and organised family starts to crumble with hilarious results.
As middle child Mark and his toad Beanz run amok, the rest of the Baker brood also run riot: Sarah plays tricks on her older sister Nora's boyfriend Hank, Jake abseils from the roof, Kim and Jessica make themselves sick on sweets and the four-year-old twins Nigel and Kyle get their heads stuck in buckets. When the whole gang gate-crash a neighbour's party, they generally make a nuisance of themselves the way only kids on a mission can do!
The DVD features exclusive extras of gigantic proportions, including audio commentary by director Shawn Levy (Just Married), commentary by the full kids cast, 11 deleted scenes, four featurettes and Easter eggs, making Cheaper By The Dozen an enormously unmissable slice of family fun that will make your DVD collection a dozen times better!
