Having already made her mark as a young actress worth watching in Thirteen and Lords Of Dogtown, teen star Nikki Reed returns to the screen as a deliciously precocious and matricidal femme fatale in Mini's First Time, coming to DVD on 3rd September 2007 courtesy of Slam Dunk Media.
Reed stars alongside Alec Baldwin (The Good Shepherd; Running With Scissors; The Departed), Carrie Anne-Moss (Disturbia; The Matrix Trilogy), Jeff Goldblum (The Life Aquatic; Igby Goes Down) and Luke Wilson (Vacancy; The Family Stone) in this provocative black comedy about a young girl who is not averse to resorting to sex, murder and blackmail when it comes to getting what she wants.
Not content with being a beautiful, rich and intelligent high school sex-bomb, Mini (Reed) chooses to amuse herself by indulging her passion for doing things she's never done before. For her, life is all about sampling as many new experiences as possible - in other words, having 'firsts'. And with plenty of time and money on her hands - not to mention minimal attention or control from her drug-abusing, alcoholic mother, Diane (Moss), and neglectful stepfather, Martin (Baldwin) - there's nothing to hold her back.
When Mini takes her pursuit of 'firsts' to the limit by turning her hand to high-class prostitution, an encounter with a very unexpected client presents her with a unique opportunity to get rid of her annoying and mentally unstable mother. Now all she has to do is persuade Martin that life would be a lot more fun without Diane around. But when Mini's devious scheme leads to an unfortunate fatality, her actions attract the attention of her sleazy next-door neighbour (Goldblum) and a young police detective, Garson (Wilson), and she soon realizes that this particular 'first' could prove to be her last...
Featuring sterling performances from every member of its all-star cast, Mini's First Time is a sexy, witty and highly entertaining social satire in the tradition of American Beauty and Pretty Persuasion.
