Based on the best-selling personal memoirs of Augusten Burroughs, this seriously funny comedy tells the difficult yet hilarious tale of how a young man growing up in the 1970's survived a nightmare childhood. Running with Scissors is available to buy and rent on DVD from 18th June 2007, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

This unique look at growing up in a troubled home features an all-star cast, including Golden Globe nominee Annette Bening (American Beauty, The American President), Gwyneth Paltrow (Proof, Sylvia), Jospeph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love, Elizabeth), Brian Cox (Matchpoint, The Bourne Supremacy) and Alec Baldwin (The Departed, The Aviator). Directed by Ryan Murphy of Nip/Tuck fame, the film also boasts Brad Pitt as one of its producers.

With an alcoholic father and an unstable mother, the young Augusten Burroughs is palmed off on his eccentric therapist and spends his formative years in the company of a truly bizarre extended family. Avoiding school, keeping a journal and taking an older lover, can he survive the difficult journey to adulthood?
