One of the greatest and most quotable black comedies of all time, Heathers stars Christian Slater (Windtalkers; Broken Arrow; True Romance), Winona Ryder (Girl, Interrupted; Alien: Resurrection) and Shannen Doherty (Mallrats; TV's Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210) in a sharply satirical tale of life (and death!) at Westerberg High School.

Now newly remastered and looking and sounding better than ever, Heathers is coming to DVD boasting a host of extras including an audio commentary by the filmmakers and an all-new documentary featuring interviews with the stars and crew members.

Ryder stars as Veronica Sawyer, the privileged fourth member of the 'Heathers', an exclusive all-girl clique named after its founders - Heather Duke (Shannen Doherty), Heather Chandler (Kim Walker) and Heather McNamara (Lisanne Falk). Establishing themselves at the head of their high school's vicious pecking order, the Heathers sadistically rule the school's social structure by way of psychologically tormenting and bullying their fellow students.

Veronica is secretly appalled by the behaviour of her peers, but does nothing to change their outlook. That is, until she meets and falls for the new boy at school, a rebellious biker named J.D. (Slater). When J.D. discovers Veronica's loathing of the Heathers, he suggests they devise a plot to kill Heather Chandler and make the death look like a suicide. Not taking him seriously, Veronica goes along with the plan. But when Chandler is found dead, Veronica finds herself inadvertently caught up in an escalating cycle of murder and suicide.

Directed by Michael Lehmann (The Truth About Cats And Dogs; Airheads) and wittily scripted by Daniel Waters (Batman Returns; The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane), Heathers is the funniest and blackest teen comedy you will ever see. The film also provides positive proof that Christian Slater was more than capable of doing a spot-on Jack Nicholson impersonation long before winning the starring role in the London stage production of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"!

Heathers will be released on DVD by Anchor Bay UK on 17th January 2005.
