Rap superstar DMX sketches a gritty tale of gangsters, vengeance and survival in the shadows of America in Never Die Alone, out to buy on DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on the 17th January 2005.

Earl ‘DMX' Simmons has had a hugely successful rapping career and is now following up that achievement with critical acclaim for his acting roles. He has recently starred in Exit Wounds with Steven Segal, Romeo Must Die with the late Aaliyah and most recently the highly praised Cradle 2 The Grave. In his latest film, Never Die Alone, DMX plays a hardened dealer and kingpin King David, whose life story is told against the backdrop of the actions and reactions sparked by his mercenary life and death.

In his own words, King David explains his version of events through an audio diary and slowly the lives of David, young gang member Michael (Michael Ealy, Barbershop, 2 Fast 2 Furious) and sheltered journalist Paul (David Arquette, Scream, Eight Legged Freaks) are woven together by conspiracy, drugs, wealth, loyalty and death as the story of Gangster America falls into place.

Based on the novel by legendary ex-con writer Donald Goines, Never Die Alone is grainy and dark, brought to the screen by cinematographer-turned-director Ernest Dickerson (Juice). It is a strikingly raw and realistic film that will draw you into this voracious quest for retribution.

The DVD includes a fascinating commentary from Dickerson, Screenwriter James Gibson and DMX, as well as ‘The Making of Never Die Alone and a selection of deleted scenes.
