With A boss from hell, a dead end job, no friends and an overbearing and sick mother, life has become one big trap for Willard Stiles. But then one day Willard is sent to dispose of rats that are plaguing his home and things start to look up...
Based on the book Raman's Notebooks by Stephen Gilbert and the 1971 cult horror movie it spawned, writer/director and devoted Hitchcock fan Glen Morgan's Burton-esque new version of Willard is a chilling and darkly entertaining gothic movie.
Starring the enigmatic and eccentric Crispin Glover, whose diverse film credits include Back to the Future, River's Edge and both Charlie's Angels feature films, alongside R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket, Se7en, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Jackie Burroughs (Lost and Delirious) and Laura Harring (Mulholland Drive), Willard will be released by Entertainment in Video on DVD 30th August 2004.
Willard (Crispin Glover) is an awkward loner who lives with his ailing mother (Jackie Burroughs) in a decrepit old house. Trapped between duties at home and working at a dreary company formerly owned by his deceased father, Willard leads a bleak and routine existence until he befriends Socrates, an albino rat living in the basement.
This new friendship leads to an affinity for the ever-growing rodent population under his house, and soon Willard discovers the rats will do anything he tells them. And when Willard is pushed too far by his bullying boss (R. Lee Ermey), he realises that he has at his disposal the perfect means of revenge. However, a dark cloud looms on the horizon, in the form of the over-sized, rebellious rat Ben, who has plans of his own for Willard.
From small things comes great power!
