Universal Pictures Video presents Anchorman, a chauvinistic pig of a comedy, which is out to own and rent on DVD and video from 31st January 2005.

Today's headlines ... Anchorman is a hysterical tale set in 1970's San Diego, which tells the story of handsome devil Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell - Starsky & Hutch, Elf, Old School) the top-rated local TV Anchorman. Oh and that chick with the skirt, the knockout with a hot fashion sense is Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate - View from the top, The Sweetest Thing).

Crisis in the Newsroom ... Veronica is fiercely ambitious, knows about journalism and is not afraid to use her feminine wiles to get where she wants and she is after Ron's job. She is, as Ron would put it, one of those tough feminist broads. Ron's advise to Veronica is that the newsroom is no place for a woman oh... and no bra next time.

Steamy scenes. A mixture of power and intrigue creates an instant attraction between the two and with Ron's Sex Panther aftershave and bulging guns Veronica soon falls for Ron's charms. That is as long as she stays in her place, covering cat fashion shows and other "female" interests.

Ball breaker moves in... Veronica refuses to settle for this and when Ron is late for a broadcast one evening she seizes her opportunity and steps behind the news desk. The battle stage has been set.

This DVD is packed with a host of excellent extras including over 25 minutes of side splitting deleted scenes, outrageous bloopers, Inside The Making Of Anchorman, commentary from Will Ferrell and Director Adam McKay and the Afternoon Delights music video.

And Finally ...Will Ferrell co-wrote the screenplay for "Anchorman" with Adam McKay, a former "Saturday Night Live" head writer. Together Ferrell and McKay, who makes his directorial debut on "Anchorman", deliver a witty & hilariously sexist comedy that is available to own and rent on DVD and video from 31st January 2005.
