Fed up with his dead-end job, nice guy Steve (Knoxville, Jackass, Dukes of Hazzard) begs his boss for a promotion. He gets his wish and his first job is to fire the hard-working janitor, Stavi. Racked with guilt at putting Stavi and his five kids on the breadline, Steve employs him as his personal gardener, but when Stavi loses three fingers in a lawn mower accident and Steve is stuck with the bill he turns to his sleazy uncle for a loan. With growing debts of his own, Uncle Gary (Brian Cox, X-Men 2, Troy) has his own idea about how to solve their money problems...

Posing as "developmentally challenged" and calling himself "Jeffy", Steve is entered into the Special Olympics. After running track in high school, Steve hopes to beat the current reigning champion, big headed Jimmy Washington. As the odds of anyone beating Jimmy are very low, the returns on any bets on "Jeffy" would be massive, and would end all their money woes.

Once Jeffy has infiltrated the Special Olympics grounds, and fooled beautiful volunteer Lynn (Katherine Heigl, Grey's Anatomy, Roswell) he is faced with a group of Special Olympics athletes who are actually more worldly wise and perceptive than Steve! Far from having the wool pulled over their eyes they see through Jeffy's act and decide to help him try to topple the reigning champ. But even that isn't going to be as easy as he thought...
