Starring Al Pacino and Dan Stevens, The Ritual is a faithful and terrifying depiction of the case of Emma Schmidt, whose alleged decades of demonic possession culminated in a series of exorcisms in 1928.

Based on True Events, The Ritual is the harrowing true story of two priests, Father Theophilus Riesinger and Father Joseph Steiger, the former struggling with his faith and the latter dealing with his past, who work together to complete a series of exorcisms on Emma Schmidt, a young woman who's allegedly experiencing demonic possession.

The film stars Academy Award-winner Al Pacino (The Godfather trilogy) and Dan Stevens (Abigail), with Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga) and Abigail Cowen (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) rounding out the cast. The Ritual was directed by David Midell (The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain), who co-wrote the film with Enrico Natale (Catalyst).

The Ritual is released on DVD and Blu-ray 11th August 2025 from Altitude Film Distribution.
