25th November 2007 sees Warner Music Entertainment release Ardal O'Hanlon Live in Dublin - the eagerly anticipated DVD featuring multi-award winning comedian - Ardal, going back to his roots performing stand up comedy for the first time in 10 years!
After attending Dublin University, Ardal established The Comedy Cellar in Dublin, Ireland's first alternative comedy club. In 1994, he won the title of Comedy Newcomer of the Year and has since, remained highly popular and one of the most acclaimed stand-up comedians to emerge on the comedy scene in recent years. Ardal shot to fame and achieved cult status after playing the dim-witted Father Dougal Maguire in the classic sitcom, Father Ted. This kick started his television comedy career, which consequently led to his continued success in the BBC sitcom My Hero, playing the lead role of Thermoman - alias mild-mannered shopkeeper, George Sunday.
Being a man of many talents, Ardal made his West End debut in 2003 at the Albery Theatre, where he appeared with Nigel Havers in See You Next Tuesday. This led to numerous film roles including the lead in the USA feature, Another Bobby O'Hara Story and the award winning, Flying Saucer Rock 'n' Roll. In addition to presenting he Stand Up Show on the BBC, Ardal has written a best selling novel, the Talk of The Town, published by Sceptre.
His one man stand up comedy show recorded live from Dublin, is a spellbinding fusion of off beat stories and polished material, which fuse to make his act a hilarious journey - touched with life enhancing observations and unexpected twists. His sheer originality and talent ensure that there is no other performer like him.
