Everyone's favourite cheese-loving inventor and his considerably more sensible canine companion are finally heading to physical media as Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl comes to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD this November.
Wallace has always believed that technology can make life easier. Gromit isn't quite so convinced. His concerns about Wallace becoming increasingly dependent upon his inventions become particularly well founded when his master unveils his latest creation: Norbot, a seemingly harmless "smart gnome" designed to tackle everyday gardening jobs. Wallace sees another triumph of British ingenuity. Gromit sees trouble. Unfortunately, Gromit is right.
When Norbot apparently develops a mind of his own, Wallace's latest labour-saving invention rapidly becomes considerably less helpful than intended. Then garden ornaments begin disappearing across the neighbourhood and suspicion falls upon Wallace and his creation. With Wallace protesting his innocence, Gromit once again finds himself having to investigate exactly what has gone wrong. But the malfunctioning gnome isn't acting alone. Behind the increasingly sinister events is someone Wallace and Gromit have encountered before. Feathers McGraw is back.
More than three decades after the villainous penguin attempted to use Wallace's Techno Trousers to steal a priceless diamond in The Wrong Trousers, Feathers has been patiently plotting his revenge. Now he has found a way to turn Wallace's own technology against him. As an army of apparently innocent garden gnomes becomes part of Feathers' elaborate scheme, Gromit must outwit his old adversary, clear Wallace's name and prevent his master's enthusiasm for invention from becoming his undoing.
Directed by Wallace & Gromit creator Nick Park alongside Merlin Crossingham, Vengeance Most Fowl marked the duo's first feature-length adventure since The Curse of the Were-Rabbit in 2005 and their first major screen outing since A Matter of Loaf and Death in 2008. The film also represented a significant changing of the guard.
Ben Whitehead takes over the role of Wallace, following the death of original voice actor Peter Sallis in 2017. Whitehead had previously voiced the character in games, commercials and other projects before becoming Wallace's principal voice. Peter Kay returns as Chief Inspector Mackintosh, promoted from the police constable audiences first encountered in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Reece Shearsmith voices Norbot, Wallace's relentlessly cheerful smart gnome, while Lauren Patel joins the cast as PC Mukherjee. The voice ensemble also includes Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, Lenny Henry and Muzz Khan. Feathers McGraw, naturally, has very little to say for himself.
Created by Aardman Animations for the BBC, Vengeance Most Fowl premiered on BBC One on Christmas Day 2024 before receiving its international release through Netflix in January 2025. The film brought Feathers McGraw back to the centre of a Wallace & Gromit story for the first time since 1993's Academy Award-winning The Wrong Trousers. His return also allowed Park and co-writer Mark Burton to explore a distinctly contemporary concern through the wonderfully analogue world of Wallace & Gromit: what happens when people become too dependent upon supposedly intelligent technology?
As usual, however, those ideas arrive alongside elaborate inventions, visual gags, meticulously animated plasticine and a heroic dog who somehow remains the most intelligent character in the room despite never saying a word. The film subsequently received widespread acclaim and became another major success for Aardman and the BBC.
Now, almost two years after its television premiere, Vengeance Most Fowl is finally receiving a UK physical-media release as Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on 16th November 2026 by BBC Studios Home Entertainment.
