Nothing is as exhilarating, exciting or all consuming as first love and on 5th February 2007 when Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment shoots Cupids arrow onto DVD (RRP: £15.99) with the romantic comedy Little Manhattan.
Starring Sex in the City's Cythia Nixon and heart-warming performances from newcomers Josh Hutcherson and Charlie Ray, this enchanting story captures that tingling sensation when you realise that you are in love for the very first time. Gabe (Hutcherson) is a typical 11-year-old boy whose summers are filled with basketball, video games, and hanging out with his friends. The only complication in his life is that his divorcing parents are forced to live under the same roof.
Gabe's summer takes a dramatic turn when he decides to enrol in karate lessons and is paired up with pretty schoolmate Rosemary (Charlie Ray). As his heart starts to race, he struggles to understand the romantic feelings, which overwhelms him. The summer turns out to be an emotional rollercoaster as young love blossoms in the Big Apple.
Featuring engaging performances from a talented and witty cast, and a hilarious voice over exploring Gabe's innermost thoughts as he battles with his emotions, Little Manhattan is a fun and amusing film for the whole family!
