Monday 2nd September 2013
One of the most anticipated and exciting tours in the world of International cricket, The Ashes 2013 chronicles England's victorious campaign to defend the Ashes against Australia over five Investec Ashes Tests across July and August at Tent Bridge, Lord's, Old Trafford, Chester-le-Street and the Oval. Relive the best of the action with The Ashes 2013, available on DVD from 30th September 2013, courtesy of 2entertain.
Presented by cricket commentator and former player Mark Nicholas and including commentary from Michael Vaughan, Geoffrey Boycott, Simon Hughes and Damien Martyn, The Ashes 2013 features over seven hours of highlights from all five Tests between England and Australia, including 'Man of the Series' Ian Bell's three centuries and 26 wickets for spinner Graeme Swann.
The 2013 Ashes saw Alistair Cook lead England for the first time, marshalling his troops to a superb 3-0 series win. The tournament got underway at Trent Bridge where 10 wickets for James Anderson helped England overcome Australia by a mere 14 runs, despite the efforts of record-making debutant Ashton Agar. Cook's Lions dominated the second Test at Lord's thanks to Joe Root and then battled to save the third Test at Old Trafford.
The Ashes were sealed thanks to Stuart Broad's inspired bowling at the Emirates Durham ICG. England came close to a record 4-0 series win at the Oval, where they lifted the urn in jubilant scenes.
