Take Shelter, released onto DVD and Blu-ray on 19th March 2012 from Universal Pictures UK, tells the story of Curtis LaForche (Michael Shannon) who lives in a small Ohio town with his wife Samantha (Jessica Chastain) and six-year-old daughter Hannah who is deaf. Despite the constant struggle of navigating Hannah's health care and education, Samantha and Curtis are very much in love and their family is a happy one.

When Curtis begins having terrifying dreams about an encroaching, apocalyptic storm, he decides not to tell his wife, but instead channels his anxiety and money into the building of a storm shelter in their backyard. His uncharacteristic behaviour concerns and baffles Samantha and provokes suspicion and intolerance amongst his colleagues, neighbours and friends, placing a strain on his marriage and creating tension within their community. As he tries desperately to stay sane, his obsessive actions become ever more erratic, placing his livelihood, his marriage and eventually his health in jeopardy. She is not alone, however, as three others stay on with her: Maud (Imelda Staunton from Vera Drake), the matron, whose initial request had brought Florence to the school; Tom (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), a young boy whose parents cannot care for him over the break; and Mallory, who, having recently fought in the Great War, is plagued by visions of the past.

Over the coming days the blurred image of a child-like ghost haunts Florence and she begins to doubt her resolve, increasingly unable to provide any logical explanation for the bizarre goings-on. However, despite the fact that Boyle seems more interested in mocking and undermining Everett than in actively working to solve the case, Boyle finds that circumstances keep pulling him back into the thick of it. First his tiresomely enthusiastic new partner disappears, then his favourite hooker attempts to blackmail him into turning a blind eye and finally the drug-traffickers themselves try to buy him off as they have every other member of the local police force.

These events unwittingly often Boyle's murky moral code. He realises that he needs to take matters into his own hands and the only person he can trust is Everett. And so the scene is set for an explosive finale.

The Guard is the most successful independent Irish film of all time in terms of box-office receipts, overtaking The Wind That Shakes The Barley (2006) that previously held this status. Christos Tsiolkas' novel was hugely controversial upon release but none-the-less sold in huge numbers and garnered much acclaim, particularly in the UK. Based on Gordon M. Synopsis

On Guy Fawkes Night in a council estate in South London trainee nurse Sam (Jodie Whittaker) is walking home to her tower block when she's robbed by a gang of masked, hooded teens. Kind Hearts and Coronets was scanned in 2K definition on a Northlight 2 Film Scanner from the original 35mm negative elements and restored in High Definition. The picture was restored using Film Master D.V.O restoration tools and PFClean software systems, removing dirt, scratches, warps, torn or replacing torn or missing frames and improving stability issues. The sound was also improved, with instances of pops, clicks, hiss and distortion minimised or removed.

Synopsis

Synopsis

The film is set during the (fictional) prehistoric Hyborian Age, a time after the fall of Atlantis but eons before the rise of known ancient civilizations. As a young Cimmerian boy, Conan is instructed by his father (William Smith) on the importance of steel to their people and its relationship with their god, Crom. Soon after, a group of warriors led by Thulsa Doom (James Earl Jones) systematically destroys Conan's village.

Thulsa Doom's lieutenant, Thorgrim, whacks the villagers with his hammer, their dogs kill Conan's father and Rexor, another lieutenant of Doom's, steals the sword of Conan's father. Conan's mother is beheaded by Thulsa Doom in front of Conan with the sword Rexor stole. They sell the children into slavery after the village is rampaged. Having been forced to push The Wheel of Pain for years, a now-adult and extremely muscular Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is trained as an arena fighter and then inexplicably freed by his master and begins a dangerous, full-blooded quest to avenge his parents massacre. The film's epilogue shows an aged Conan sitting upon a throne, crowned as King.

Synopsis
