Synopsis

Jack Foley is the most successful bank robber in the country with over 200 robberies to his name. Breaking out of jail to perform one last heist he meets and falls for the smart and sexy US Marshal Karen Sisco.

Film

With the assistance of friends on both the inside and outside, Jack Foley cleverly breaks out of his Florida prison only to be apprehended by unlikely US marshal Karen Sisco who's packing some firepower. However, she's soon overpowered and forced into the boot of a car with Foley. Karen soon finds herself falling for her kidnapper and doesn't know whether she wants to bed or bust him. The two then begin a risky romance as Jack plans one last final heist to steal $5 million dollars worth of diamonds from information he received whilst inside.
The film is very cleverly directed by Steven Soderbergh. As the story progresses we keep cutting back to various plot points in the film as the heist plans are hatched, however, I sometimes got completely lost wondering where exactly we were. The magnetism between Clooney and Lopez sizzles throughout and it must be Clooney's best film to date, indeed it caused many an opening of cheque books for Ms. Lopez's services. There's also a nice cameo from Michael Keaton who plays the same police role as he did in Jackie Brown and even Samuel L. Jackson appears near the end as a prisoner.
The menu system on this disc is simple, but perfectly effective. Before getting to one of the menu options you get a catchy tune and quick action sequence from the film. The deleted scenes section is excellent, if not a little boring after a while. There is literally 20 minutes of deleted scenes, most of them from the boot of the car, and considering this film is over two hours long, and to be honest, too slow at times, you can see why they were pruned.
The picture is bright and crisp and the sound cracking throughout. If you liked the music score in the film then you'll love the music highlights option which allows you to select a particular scene in the film and listen to the accompanying musical score. A nice touch.
