Blood and Chocolate
Sunday 3rd June 2007
Entertainment in Video is delighted to announce an 18th June 2007 rental DVD release date and a 25th June 2007 retail DVD release date for fantasy thriller Blood & Chocolate, the unforgettable story of a young girl caught between two worlds - a human world by day and the life of a werewolf by night.
Directed by Katja von Garnier from the best-selling novel by Annette Curtis Klause and produced by the team behind Underworld, the film stars Agnes Bruckner (Dreamland, The Woods, 24), Hugh Dancy (Basic Instinct 2, Shooting Dogs, Ella Enchanted, Daniel Deronda) and Olivier Martinez (Unfaithful, S.W.A.T.).
Ten years ago, in the remote mountains of Colorado, a young girl watched helplessly as her family was murdered by a pack of angry men for the secret they carried in their blood. She survived by running into the woods, and changing into something the hunters could never find... a wolf.
Now, though she lives half a world away in Bucharest, Vivian Gandillon (Agnes Bruckner) is still running.
Vivian spends her days working in a chocolate shop and her nights trawling the city's underground clubs. But only when she's running through the woods that surround the city does she feel truly free though whatever she's chasing seems continually to elude her. Vivian's life begins to unravel when she has a chance encounter with Aiden (Hugh Dancy), an artist researching the city's ancient art and relics for his next graphic novel.
Aiden pursues Vivian until she relents and begins to see him, but she can't bring herself to tell him the truth. Even though Vivian has sworn never to kill, she is as much an animal as she is human, and her love for Aiden threatens to cast him to the very wolves who saved her life and who are now waiting for their chance to hunt him as prey.
