Down In The Valley (2005)
Friday 2nd March 2007
Icon Home Entertainment announces the DVD release of Down In The Valley on 5th March 2007. Starring Edward Norton, (Fight Club, Primal Fear) and Evan Rachel Wood, (Thirteen, Running With Scissors), the film is both atmospheric and unsettling in its exploration of the tumultuous relationship between a suburban teenager and a mysterious stranger. Updating the Western genre by setting it against the backdrop of modern-day California Down In The Valley is written and directed by David Jacobson, and is a captivating return to the films of 1970s Hollywood.
Tobe (Evan Rachel Wood), is a teenager whose aimless existence is turned upside down by a chance encounter with Harlan Carruthers (Edward Norton), a charismatic cowboy who seems as if he would be more at home on a ranch than in Los Angeles.
Despite the difference in their ages and backgrounds, and the opposition of Tobe's father, Wade (David Morse The Green Mile), the couple persue their passionate, furtive romance until it becomes apparent that Tobe is unprepared for the intensity of Harlan's love. Things take a sudden, dangerous turn when Tobe discovers that Harlan is not all he appears to be.
