Witness the start of the sexual revolution when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases the first season of the hit drama, Masters Of Sex on DVD on 28th July 2014.
The smart, stylish and seductive series, which premiered on Channel 4 in 2013, chronicles the work and after-hours lives of the science of human sexuality's pioneers, Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Michael Sheen (Midnight in Paris) portrays a brilliant and renowned fertility specialist and Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls) is a former nightclub entertainer who becomes his invaluable partner.
Based on the book by Thomas Maier, the first season also features a top-notch ensemble cast of co-stars, including Caitlin FitzGerald (It's Complicated), Teddy Sears (TV's American Horror Story) and Nicholas D'Agosto (Final Destination 5). Guest stars include Beau Bridges (The Descendants), Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County) and Allison Janney (TV's Mom).
All 12 episodes will be available on the 4-disc DVD set for Masters Of Sex: Season One, which was awarded an AFI Award for TV Program of the Year in its first season, in addition to two Golden Globe® nominations for Best Television Series - Drama, as well as Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama (Michael Sheen).
Masters Of Sex stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital to the cover of Time magazine. He is a brilliant scientist out of touch with his own feelings and she is a single working mother ahead of her time.
