Academy Award®-winning Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Meryl Streep lend their vocal talents to the hilarious and heartwarming stop-motion animated adventure from visionary film director Wes Anderson, Fantastic Mr. Fox, arriving on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on 1st March 2010 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Winner of over seven industry accolades for best animated feature, this classic family tale, based on the beloved book by Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach), tells the story of the wily and wonderful Mr. Fox who must use his cunning to keep his family, friends and countryside safe from evil farmers, Boggis, Bunce and Bean.
In Anderson's first animated movie he employs visually impressive handmade stop-motion techniques to tell the story along with a colourful supporting voice cast to bring his eccentric characters to life including Bill Murray (Lost in Translation) as Badger, Jason Schwartzman (Darjeeling Limited) as Mr Fox's nephew - Ash, and Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Rat.
The unique look and feel of Fantastic Mr Fox, including the film's luxurious colour, texture and movement was created using more than 500 puppets and over 600,000 still frames. Savour every minute as Mr. Fox slips back into his old ways as a chicken thief for one final heist.
The Blu-ray and DVD special features offer a fascinating behind-the-scenes look into the secrets of stop-motion animation including the detail, colour usage and innovative material the production team chose for the unique sets and puppets. In addition, interviews with the big-name cast are joined by a hilarious step-by-step guide on the sport taking woodland by storm, Whack-Bat!
