"Bold, original and ambitious, this is personal filmmaking of a rare vintage. By turns funny, smart and poignant, this is one of the most satisfying films of 2007" – 5 stars Total Film
Three American brothers who haven’t spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other – to become brothers like they used to be. Each brother is running away from something: Francis (Wilson; The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Royal Tenenbaums) has had a near-death experience, Peter (Brody; The Pianist, King Kong) is about to have a baby with his partner, and Jack (Schwartzman; Rushmore, I Heart Huckabees) is struggling to cope with the collapse of a relationship. However, their ‘spiritual quest’ veers rapidly off-course due to a series of unforeseen events, and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with 11 suitcases, a printer and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new and unplanned journey suddenly begins. Stylish and engaging, with stunning cinematography and an unforgettable soundtrack, The Darjeeling Limited showcases Wes Anderson’s classic brand of offbeat, irreverent humour. The DVD special features include the Wes Anderson short film Hotel Chevalier, starring Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman, intended as a prologue to The Darjeeling Limited. Get on board and enjoy the journey on DVD this April. Special Features:
