Young, orphaned David Balfour returns to his Uncle Ebeneezer’s bleak, unwelcoming house in Scotland to claim his inheritance, only to be greeted by this hostile and strange relative. It is not long before David realises that his uncle has neither desire nor intention to hand over the inheritance that is due him, and is willing to carry out murder to prevent the estate from returning to David. After failed homicidal attempts, Uncle Ebeneezer sells him as a slave to Captain Hoseason.

Onboard the ship, David strikes up a friendship with Alan Breck Stewart who comes onboard the ship after surviving a shipwreck. Together they fight off the threat from the Captain and crew as they make attempt on Stewart’s life for his money. The two manage to get to land and set out for Edinburgh dodging the ruthless Redcoats…
