(The Sunday Times).Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) is a cool 16-year-old with a sharp line in sardonic wit, but beneath her confident exterior is a teenage girl just trying to figure it all out. After seducing her unassuming classmate Bleeker (Michael Cera) she finds herself pregnant and stuck ‘in one doodle that can’t be undid’. Along with best friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby), and with the support of her father (J.K. Simmons) and stepmother (Allison Janney) she hatches a plan to find the unborn baby the perfect set of parents and sets her sights on Mark and Vanessa Loring (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner), a seemingly faultless suburban couple. From a universally acclaimed debut script by Diablo Cody, Juno is a film littered with pithy one-liners and quirky, vulnerable characters who grapple through various crises and emerge a little worse for wear.
