This review is a bit of a departure from our normality, but we felt that it was a significant release that it required some attention. |
| The video is a sort of seventies style romp with Britain's Ali-G driving a large gold limo with Madonna in the back singing. At various intervals the video cuts to some super cartoon animation of Madonna and Ali fighting off various Kung-Fu baddies etc. |
There are two versions of the video on the disk, one being slightly longer with a cutout to Ali-G in the middle turning down the radio and talking to "Maradonna" in a little skit. Interestingly there is a Parental Advisory on the front of the disk but I can find none of the explicit lyrics promised. |
Picture wise things are what you would expect, fairly average but there's no artifacting and the colours are bright and vivid. |
Sound wise things are in PCM stereo only which again is what you would expect for something of this ilk. |
I've recommended the sound because the single is exceptional Madonna material (okay, I'm a fan, and have been for years) not for its clarity. But I would say that this is pretty groundbreaking stuff being the first mainstream DVD single released. |
