DVD-150HT

Multi-Region:

  • Open drive tray
  • Using remote press 9, 8, 1 and 7
  • The service menu will be displayed
  • Select required region by pressing 1 to 6 on your remote or 9 for multi-region. Macrovision can also be disabled from this menu

DVD-1000

Multi-Region:

  • Open the DVD player tray
  • Place a Region 1 disc in the tray, but don't close it
  • Press the buttons 0, 1, 2 and then 3 on your remote control in order, one at a time
  • Press the Play button on either your remote or the player

Restore to Region Two:

  • Open the DVD player tray
  • Place a Region 2 disc in the tray, but don't close it
  • Press the buttons Return and then Play on your remote control in order, one at a time

Note: Freezes with RCE discs. No known problems with models using new firmware made available in January 2000. Earlier firmware versions will not play The Matrix and require an upgrade, this does not remove the hack.

DVD-P350

Multi-Region:

  • Open the tray
  • Press 8, 1, 3, 2 and 8
  • Enter scrolls region (9 = all)
  • Press Play

DVD-1050

Multi-Region:

  • Open drive tray
  • Put in Region 1 DVD
  • Close drive tray and immediately press and keep pressing 1 or 2 rapidly on remote control until DVD begins to play
  • DVD will play but controls on remote will not work. Therefore:- no pause, ff, rew etc. but the film will play

DVD-1200

Multi-Region:

  • Open disk tray
  • Type 8, 8, 8 and 8
  • Press Play until desired region (9 for all)
  • Press Stop to store make sure your DVD player is set on PAL

DVD-2000, DVD-2500

Multi-Region:

  • Press Menu on the remote control
  • Press 1, 6, 7 followed by the desired Region number, or press Mute for Region free
  • Exit the menu

This hack only works as long as the player is plugged into the mains. Once power is lost the handset hack requires to be re-entered.

VCD Hack:
  • Insert a music CD
  • Press Menu and 5
  • Press Eject (tray should remain closed)
  • Press 1 and Index Menu
  • Press Eject (tray should remain closed)
  • You should now see a menu where you should select 1 to enable VCD playback
