Synopsis

Godzilla is a massive creature, created by nuclear fallout decades ago. Now Godzilla is venturing out into the world and leaving a trail of destruction behind it and fear in front of it.

Film

As the monster makes its way towards New York, Dr. Niko Tatopoulos is called in to study the massive footprints left behind by the monster. Things quickly get out of hand as Godzilla rips New York to pieces and there is nothing the military or any one else seems to be able to do about it.
After the initial awe-inspiring effects hit you, one thing becomes apparent...This film has virtually no plot whatsoever. Its a visual film, one driven by brilliant special effects, a real no brainer! If you're going to watch this film, do it with a lot of beer (as long as you're old enough!) and some snacks because you won't have to use the grey matter even once.

The picture is pretty good, considering its fairly low bit-rate, but the sound is where this film excels with some excellent use of surround especially in the fishing scene, and the attacks on the monster with bullets flying everywhere! Extras are also superb with lots of interesting items including a "How the special effects were done" style featurette and some rather nifty animated menu's.

Even though I can't recommend the film, I can recommend you buy it for the show-off value and since its a fairly old title you should be able to pick it up fairly cheaply if you shop around (I paid £9.99 for my copy!).
