Synopsis |
Nicolas Van Orton is an obnoxious, but successful businessman. When his brother gives him an unusual birthday present, his life starts to fall apart. |
| Film |
The entire film revolves around the said gift, which is the game of the films title. Throughout the film, Nicolas is never certain if the game has ended or not, his house is vandalized and the woman he thinks is there to help him, turns out to be part of the game. |
This film is excellent, it twists and turns so much, that you end up changing your mind every five minutes as to just what the game is, who are the bad guys? Who are the good guys? What the heck is going on? Nothing is clear, but all the way though, you won't be able to take your eyes of the screen. In the end when it all becomes clear, you think to yourself....That was obvious, why didn't I see it? |
Picture quality doesn't match up to the films quality though, with a slight graininess, and blurring around the edges. Pity that. |
Sound again isn't wonderful, even when surround can't be usefully used (and here it can't for most of the time) there is no excuse for not having crystal clear dialogue, but the dialogue here sounds a little muffled. |
So, great film, but a below average transfer. |
