Synopsis |
|
Spencer Armacost is a NASA astronaut, who on a routine shuttle mission loses contact with mission control for 2 minutes. When he returns to earth, he starts to act strangely. |
| Film |
| Spencer gives up his job, which he loves and goes to work for an aerospace company as a consultant. Jillian cannot understand this, and becomes more and more suspicious of her husband. After the mission Spencer's friend and co-astronaut dies and later his wife is discovered having committed suicide, pregnant with twins. Jillian is now also pregnant...with twins and Spencer is becoming more deranged by the minute. Only Sherman Reese, an ex-NASA consultant realises something is wrong, but it will take a lot to convince Jillian. |
| This is a bad film....very bad. Its not the acting, the gorgeous Theron shines even if Depp does look a little out of place. The problem with the film is that it never seems to go anywhere, it never gets going and then when the end comes, you're left disappointed. Even the alternative ending doesn't help, with what is basically a longer version of the original. |
| Picture quality is in general very good, dark scenes seem to be a theme of the film and artifacting is none-existent even in these areas, a definite bonus if you like Charlize Theron! Sound is clear, if slightly unimaginative in its use. Considering the state of some of the soundtracks released its not bad. |
| The menu system is very pretty, you get a nice scene from the film underlying the main menu with stills alternating on the left. When you select an option you also get a nice wormhole effect. Extras however are disappointing, but not the worst I've seen on a region 2 DVD. |
| All in all, a bad film with an okay transfer which should only be bought if you're a fan of Charlize Theron. |
