Dr. Evil returns from hibernation in space and travels back to 1969 and steals Austin's mojo. Now Austin must return back to the 60's to recover his mojo and face, not one, but 1 and ¹/8's of Dr. evil and his deranged clone Mini-me. |

| At the end of the last film Austin has defeated his arch enemy Dr. Evil and he and his new bride Vanessa are settling in to marital bliss. However, Dr. Evil has yet to deliver Austin his shocking wedding gift. Strangely, Elizabeth Hurley is in the main credits, yet she is only in the film for about two minutes. Was this required to get her to return, albeit briefly? |
| The world learns of Dr. Evils return by watching a Jerry Springer show with all its comical violent tendencies. He has returned along with all of his evil partners Frau Farbissina, Number Two, Scott and a show stealing genetically engineered Dr. Evil who is unfortunately only ¹/8 his size. |
| Dr. Evil travels back in time to steal Austin's mojo whilst he is still cryogenically frozen and set's up an evil base in a hollowed out volcano, once again holding the world the ransom by building a laser on the moon. Austin has to follow back in time and work with the CIA agent Felicity Shagwell to recover his mojo and save the world from Dr. Evil. There then follows numerous homage's and spoofs of films past and present. |
| As sequels go, this is actually a better outing than the first, probably in part to a bigger budget for both the film and post production. It is hard to find fault with this film and as a fan of Mike Myers it is easy to see why it was this film that toppled Star Wars from its dizzy heights in the cinema. Let's just hope we get another Austin Powers film soon. |

The picture and sound is as you'd expect from DVD and the music is quite catchy. Not many films can get their principal actor back to the studio just to record extras for a DVD menu. But this is exactly what Mike Myers has done. When the various menus are displayed he indicates the menu options with a little dance and even utters comments once the selection is made. A nice touch, and good to see that stardom hasn't gone to his head. |
